What You're Avoiding Is Following You

He ran 2,500 miles in the wrong direction. Maybe you've done the same.

Jonah ran. Not metaphorically. He went 2,500 miles in the opposite direction of where God told him to go. And when the storm hit the boat he was hiding on, he wasn't up top panicking with everyone else. He was below deck, asleep, completely comfortable in his own disobedience. This sermon is about what happens when you get good at running from the thing you know you're supposed to face, and why the storms in your life might not be solved by another diet, another budget, or another self-help book. Most of us are frantically throwing cargo overboard trying to survive a storm we secretly started ourselves. The real fix isn't lightening the ship. It's surrender, and a God who refuses to let you sleep through your own destruction.
